Default Really good way to improve fsx fps!!

I have a good way to improve fsx fps which I learned from a you tube video. here it is:

go to my computer\program files\microsoftgames\microsoft flightsimulatorx\autogen\ and find the "default" file. right click it and press rename and rename it to "defaultold" and press enter. This simple change worked for me and i hope it helps you too!!

P:S: Please tell me if this works for you or if you have any questions

Do you mean default.xml? Does FSX generate this file again?

(by the way "Biskit" I fixed fsx)yes the default .xml is the document. I don't think FSX duplicates the file but if you don't like it you can change it back. see the you tube video for more information:

Hi Folks

Agent00729 -
Have you considered the more conventional approach ?

i.e.
Just setting your autogen slider leftmost, (zero),
which has exactly the same effect.

BASys-

actually it doesn't have the same effect at all because you can still use your autogen. Did you even try it?

Hi Folks

Agent00729 -
My apologies it doesn't quite have the same effect.

However -
AIUI, removing the default.xml will -
a)
Remove all the "added value" random autogen,
and the autogen variations across the world's 26 regions.
i.e.
Watertanks, farms, siloes, industrial clutter, urban malls, and many trees/shrubs, etc.

b)
May cause many major addon landclass/photscenery type packages to display incorrectly,
as they depend on a modified/extended default.xml

At a guess it'll possibly detrimentally affect -
UTX, OrbX, Megascenery, Horizon & Justflight VFR photoscenery, TongassX,
and any FS9 equivalent product types.

PS
Your video also wrongly instructs users
that the default.xml file is located in -
Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Airplanes
