Title Formation Flying with two SA colours Shackletons
Description A friend and myself again flying formation over Lesage Airport Quebec Canada. The Shackleton is payware from the Shackleton Project, working perfectly in FSX, although designed for FS9. Picture spoiled a bit by the METAR info ticker scrolling across the screen, forgot to turn this off, but did not want to toss the picture.

27th May 2010 11:13 PM Thanks Skydancer

Yes this baby was my first (and only at the time) payware for FS2004, but I had to support the Shackleton Project (the money from the SIM goes to the upkeep of the actual real working aeroplane). Firstly because we have the last flying model left in the world. Britain had one and something went wrong, so they have bought some from us and are busy restoring them to flying condition. And secondly I was involved with them in my young days in National Sea rescue (Station 10 Simonstown 1974 to 1989). We used to do joint ops with the rescue arm of the SAAF, based in Ysteplaat, and the now defunct Wingfield, then moved to CT International.

We used to get to fly in these big boys, and man what a memory, and the nostalgia. Grand old ladies they are. And the cool thing is that the SIM model is very accurate, in flight Deck, cabin and sounds, to what I remember. 28th May 2010 08:58 AM I have the shackleton as well, and its a beautiful model, but I ahvent flown it for a while now, mostly stick to the airlines like the PMDG. The PMDG 737 was my very 1st payware aircraft, and up until today I still enjoy flying her. But I agree with you 100%, the sound and feel of the shackleton is so realistic, not that I have flown one but I can tell.

30th May 2010 01:35 PM I wish I could have seen that in real life. I have an old video of of Stellenbosch airshow where the shackleton did a display as well as the Spitfire and Seafury. Is so said we will never see that again
